Fishing

Wade Lake has earned a reputation for large, great fighting native rainbow and German Brown trout. The Montana State record brown trout was caught here in 1966. At 29 pounds it remains the current record even though a 28 ½ pounder caught here in the late 1970’s tried very hard to best it.

Cliff Lake offers rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing. Cliff Lake produced the state record rainbow trout weighing 20 pounds, which stood from 1952 until the record was broken in 1988.

Flyfishing, spincasting and trolling from boats and float tubes are the most successful methods on the lakes. There is a "no wake" speed limit on both lakes which emphasizes the importance placed on the wildlife resources of the area.

The Madison River, just 5 miles from the resort, is one of the most famous blue ribbon trout fisheries in the world. There are also many other lakes, streams, and rivers within a day’s fishing.
